Shirine Saad is a Beirut-born journalist, programmer and DJ focusing on culture and social change. They were Assistant Professor of the Practice in Arts Journalism and Criticism at Brown University, where they were the Founding Editor of a new multimedia arts journal, MOVEMENTS. They are a PhD candidate in Philosophy, Art and Social Thought at the European Graduate School.

“How do we listen together after genocide? Can sound carry the weight of memory, dissent, and survival? This mix threads guerrilla feminist and queer expressions through layers of noise, static, and fracture, remixing the sonic remnants of techno-dystopian destruction into resonant acts of defiance and care.”

A monthly selection of alternative, ambient and experimental music from Lebanon and the MENA region, selected by music promoter and label owner Ziad Nawfal – this broadcast features a guest mix by Lebanese dreampop duo SNAKESKIN (Julia Sabra & Fadi Tabbal). Originally commissioned by Stegi Radio and produced by Onassis Stegi.

Snakeskin is a Beirut-based duo making electronic dreampop that incorporates ambient, industrial, and experimental elements. The project brings together producer and musician Fadi Tabbal and singer songwriter Julia Sabra, also a member of indie trio Postcards.
The duo’s third album We live in sand will be released on October 10, 2025 as a co-release between Ruptured and Beacon Sound. Written as the war in Gaza spread to Lebanon, it is their starkest and most immediate work to date, combining industrial beats, ambient dirges, and Julia’s distinctive vocals.

A monthly selection of alternative, ambient and experimental music from Lebanon and the MENA region, selected by music promoter and label owner Ziad Nawfal – this broadcast features a guest mix by Lebanese musician SARY MOUSSA. Originally commissioned by Stegi Radio and produced by Onassis Stegi.

Sary Moussa is a Lebanese electronic musician, sound designer, producer, and engineer, deeply rooted in Beirut’s experimental and underground music scenes. Emerging in the late 2000s under the moniker radiokvm, he released his debut full-length album, Issrar, in 2014 on the Ruptured label. Performing under his own name, Moussa followed up with Imbalance in 2020 on Nicolas Jaar’s Other People imprint: an album shaped by childhood memories and regional soundscapes, blending Greek-Catholic chants, ambient noise, and the sonic imprint of southern Lebanon.

Moussa’s work is characterized by a fusion of drone-driven compositions and dance floor-ready electronica, emphasizing generative sound design and intricate sonic textures. His latest album Wind, Again was released by Other People in summer 2025. Beyond his solo projects, Moussa is an active collaborator across various artistic disciplines. He has composed music for theater, dance, film, and art installations.

Youmna Saba is a Lebanese musician, composer, and musicologist whose work bridges classical Arabic music and electroacoustic experimentation. Her current research explores the resonance of instruments and spaces in relation to the Arabic language in its sung form. She has released five albums, most recently Wishah (2023) on Touch and Ruptured, and has collaborated with artists such as Kamilya Jubran, Mike Cooper, and Neue Vocalsolisten.

Saba has performed at festivals including CTM (Berlin) and Éclat (Stuttgart), and has taken part in international residencies at the Cité Internationale des Arts, INA-GRM, Camargo Foundation, and Musée du Quai Branly, where she developed a sound installation on the “breath” of instruments. Her practice reflects a deep engagement with sonic memory, spatiality, and the evolution of Arabic musical forms.

Originally commissioned by Stegi Radio and produced by Onassis Stegi.

Nour Sokhon is a Lebanese artist based in Berlin, Germany, whose work explores diverse methods of artistic research, including interviews, field recordings, and site-specific interventions. Her findings are translated into sound/music compositions, performances, interactive installations, and moving image work.

“This mix, “Qulubuna”, is named after a track I composed for the Zilzal: Sonic Ceremony compilation. Qulubuna means “our hearts” in Arabic, and it reflects the whirlwind of emotions I’ve been experiencing over the past year and a half, watching the violence escalate—and continue to escalate—from afar. Through sound, I try to process the grief, helplessness, and longing that come with bearing witness from a distance.”

Originally commissioned by Stegi Radio and produced by Onassis Stegi.

Camille Cabbabe is a Lebanese filmmaker, screenwriter, and musician whose work spans film, music, and literature. She earned her BA in Filmmaking from the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts in 2017, and her senior film, Down is the New Up, won two awards and was screened at festivals across Lebanon, Europe, and the United States.

Beyond filmmaking, Camille is also a musician, having played with several bands over the past decade. In 2024, she recorded her first solo album titled K2 set to be released in 2025. The album is accompanied by a film featuring a blend of home videos and mixed media visuals.

Stefan Christoff is a media maker, community activist, and artist based in Montréal. He hosts Free City Radio, a weekly program airing on seven community stations across Canada and available globally as a podcast. As a musician, he collaborates with artists worldwide, including Anarchist Mountains, Aidan Baker, Adriana Camacho, Aidan Girt, Lori Goldston, Nicolás Jaar, and Sessa. Stefan serves on the board of the Immigrant Workers Centre in Côte-des-Neiges, organizes with Cinema Politica Network, and contributes regularly to Radio AlHara in Palestine. He is also involved with the Social Justice Centre and is pursuing graduate studies in history at Concordia University.

A monthly selection of alternative, ambient and experimental music from Lebanon and the MENA region, selected by music promoter and label owner Ziad Nawfal – this broadcast features a mix by Lebanese DJ, producer and promoter RENATA. Originally commissioned by Stegi Radio and produced by Onassis Stegi.

Renata was invited to produce this set in August 2024 and kindly agreed. However, Israel’s brutal campaign on Lebanon soon began, forcing her to pause the project. She was finally able to complete it just a couple of weeks ago.

The result is a mix that carries the weight of the past year —a deeply personal and carefully curated selection that spans experimental electronics, folk traditions, and beyond, featuring tracks from Psychic TV, Suzanne Ciani, Raed Yassin, and more.

Accompanying the set is a full-length video of Renata spinning live on vinyl, filmed in Beirut and available to watch on Ruptured’s YouTube channel – see below.

A monthly selection of alternative, ambient and experimental music from Lebanon and the MENA region, selected by music promoter and label owner Ziad Nawfal – this broadcast features a mix by Lebanese musician SANDY CHAMOUN. Originally commissioned by Stegi Radio and produced by Onassis Stegi.

Sandy Chamoun is a multifaceted artist, singer, and actor based in Beirut. Her music draws from her ongoing interest in a wide range of subjects, including audio-visual arts, politics, satire, and folk traditions.

In 2022, Chamoun released her debut solo album, FATA17OCT. She is currently developing her second album, Sawt El Doumoue, commissioned by Mophradat. Beyond her solo work, she is a founding member of two notable musical groups: the political satire band The Great Departed and the free-rock, post-folk sextet SANAM. SANAM’s debut album, Aykathani Malakon, was released in June 2023 on the UK label Mais Um Discos to critical acclaim, followed by the live album Live at Cafe Oto a year later.

Chamoun has also delved into Arabic folk songs with social and political themes. She has performed the works of iconic figures like Sheikh Imam and Mona Meraashli at venues such as Metro Al-Madina in Beirut. As a performer, she has appeared in several acclaimed Lebanese theater productions, including Political Circus, Welada88, and Aghani Servicet (Taxi Songs). Her skills extend to sound design, with credits in short films such as There Is a Baba in Our House by Leil Zahra Mortada and Congress of Idling Persons by Bassem Saad.
