The Ruptured label was founded by Ziad Nawfal in 2009, as an outlet for his activities as a music producer and promoter in Beirut. The label aims to release material by local Lebanese artists, as well as non-Lebanese musicians settled in the Middle Eastern area, or passing through Lebanon for concerts and performances.
In 2010, Ruptured released a compilation of demos and B-sides by Lebanese experimental rock band Scrambled Eggs, as well as a full-length album by renowned Lebanese electronica artist Jawad Nawfal, aka Munma.
The label’s main production output centers around The Ruptured Sessions, a series of recordings made in the studios of Radio Liban, the local Lebanese government radio, during Nawfal’s weekly program Ruptures.
